RAeC President - HRH The Duke of York KG

The Royal Aero Club is immensely proud to have His Royal Highness The Duke of York, KG, as President.

The Duke of York has a long association with flying, serving for 22 years as a helicopter pilot in the Royal Navy, flying Gazelles, Sea Kings and Lynx among other helicopters. He received his Wings in April 1981, two years after joining the Royal Navy, when he also won an award for the best pilot.

The Duke of York performs numerous ceremonial and military duties as the Colonel-in-Chief or Royal Colonel of nine British and Commonwealth Army Regiments, among his many titles.

The Duke of York became President of the Royal Aero Club of Great Britain in 1982. He is passionate about enabling youth to fulfil their potential,especially through challenging outdoor activities such as flying.
